The certification cycle
FSSC 24000 certification follows a three-year cycle:
- Start: initial audit (Stages 1 and 2)
- Year 1: first surveillance audit. This must be completed within 12 months of the Stage 2 certification decision date
- Year 2: second surveillance audit
- Year 3: recertification audit. Certification must be reissued before the end of the three-year cycle
