In a landscape increasingly shaped by sustainability concerns, SGS has taken a step forward, becoming the first company in the TIC sector to have finalized its double materiality assessment, in line with Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requirements. This achievement underscores our commitment to transparency, responsibility and a sustainable business approach.
The CSRD significantly increases the number of disclosures companies must make about material or relevant sustainability matters. Our meticulous assessment, covering impact and financial materiality, involved a thorough review of our value chain, stakeholder prioritization and direct consultations. Aligned with our annual risk assessment, the results have been rigorously reviewed and approved by our top management.
Our double materiality matrix outlines the distribution of material topics, offering a clear roadmap for our sustainability journey. It marks the beginning of a resolute transition to align with the CSRD.
Ariel Bauer, Group Vice President, Investor Relations, Communications & Sustainability, said: "Sustainability is a core part of our identity. This milestone reflects our commitment to a sustainable future, creating positive impacts for our stakeholders and the world we operate in."
