SPEL stands as one of the leading manufacturers of Technology Intensive Engineering Plastic and Packaging Products in Pakistan. This Carbon Neutrality Certification underscores their dedication to enhancing resilience towards climate change and reducing GHG emissions, aligning with the core objectives of the Paris Agreement.

The Paris Agreement aims to bolster the global response to climate change by limiting the global temperature rise to well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels and striving to keep it under 1.5 degrees Celsius.

The globally recognized standard PAS 2060 (soon to be ISO 14068) offers a robust methodology for assessing carbon neutrality. It ensures that efforts are genuine, equitable, science-based, and transparent. This standard consolidates carbon neutral and net zero concepts, providing a clear framework that supports the journey towards carbon neutrality/net zero.

Moreover, this certification contributes to Pakistan's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) goals. Pakistan has set an ambitious conditional target of reducing its projected emissions by 50% by 2030. SPEL's initiative not only addresses their individual goal of mitigating the impacts of climate change but also supports the nation's overall NDC objectives.
