Q80 Valve Industries Achieves ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Certifications from SGS

Q80 Valve Industries is a reputable valve manufacturing enterprise based in Kuwait. In 2023, the company has achieved three ISO certifications from SGS: ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety Management), proving their commitment to providing safe and sustainable solutions.

Meaning behind ISO certifications

The ISO 14001 certification demonstrates Q80 Valve Industries' commitment to reducing their environmental impact by implementing effective environmental management practices. This includes the identification of significant aspects of the business that can impact the environment and establishing measures to mitigate them.

Similarly, with ISO 45001 certification, Q80 Valve Industries has showcased their commitment to ensuring a safe workplace for all employees. Certificates not to be the ultimate goal

In early 2022, Q80 Valve Industries took the decision to implement ISO management systems standards and go through certification process. This decision was driven by both customers’ demand and the willingness to streamline business operations.

Thanks to the strong commitment of top management, skilled personnel, and unwavering support from the SGS team in Kuwait, Q80 Valves Industries successfully achieved the QHSE implementation goal in less than a year. 

Q80 Valve Industries have been certified by SGS against ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 in February 2023, and against ISO 9001 in June 2023. The three certificates issued by SGS under UKAS accreditation are recognized on a global scale. This has been a testament to the hard work of the entire team.

“During the audits, Q80 Valve Industries have demonstrated their ability to identify hazards, manage risks effectively, and maintain high-quality standards” said Mohammed Mosaib, Certification Manager at SGS Kuwait.

However, in order to achieve further improvement, a continuous effort and monitoring process is required on permanent basis.

How to ensure continuous improvement of business operations?

“In order to make improvements to a management system, it is not advisable to make sudden and drastic changes, as this can lead to confusion, inefficiencies, and potential setbacks” noted Venkatachalam Govindan, Quality Assurance Manager at Q80 Valve Industries.

Instead, a thoughtful and deliberate approach should be taken, with a focus on identifying areas of improvement and implementing changes in a structured and consistent manner. 

This can involve gathering feedback from stakeholders, data analysis and development of a clear roadmap for implementation.
