We are pleased to announce a major milestone in our commitment to environmental stewardship and high-quality analytical services in East Africa. Our environmental testing laboratory in Tanzania, originally launched in 2007 and accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, has moved to a new, modern facility in Mwanza.
Although the grand opening ceremony is scheduled for early 2026, the laboratory has been fully operational since September 2025, and clients are already welcome to submit samples for analysis.
The new premises, spanning 1,200 m², represent a significant upgrade from the previous location. Designed in line with the latest global best practices for laboratory infrastructure, the facility enhances sample integrity, minimizes cross-contamination risks and strengthens overall testing quality.
SGS Tanzania continues to offer comprehensive physicochemical and microbiological analysis of water, soil, sediment, plant tissue and air. Now, with expanded floor space and upgraded workflows, the lab is better positioned than ever to deliver fast, accurate and reliable results.

The facility is poised to serve not only Tanzania but also neighboring countries, evolving into a primary environmental analysis hub for East Africa and beyond.
With some final furnishing and aesthetic work underway, anticipation is building for the grand opening in early 2026.
