Enforcement dates revised for single-use plastic food containers and cups in Georgia.
Georgia revised its technical regulation on food contact plastics in 2025 to address the use of disposable plastic food containers and cups for ready-to-eat foods supplied by public catering establishments. The original restriction was scheduled to apply from July 1, 2026 (SafeGuardS 24/26).
On July 7, 2026, Georgia issued Resolution No. 303 of July 6, 2026 (Resolution No. 303/2026). This measure updates the food contact plastics regulation (Resolution No. 304/2022) by replacing the single implementation date with separate transition dates for these two product categories.
