On November 29 and 30, SGS took center stage as it hosted the kick-off meeting of CIRCULAR4Hospitality, a pioneering project funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program and led by the Federación Empresarial Hotelera de Mallorca (FEHM). The project is committed to providing professionals in the hospitality sector, aspiring individuals and vocational education teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary to integrate circularity strategies into the hotel industry through a comprehensive training course.

The project's targets are diverse and include individuals associated with Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), young people and adults in the hospitality sector, workers and entrepreneurs in tourism and hospitality, as well as policy and decision-makers in education and training. Additionally, the project aims to reach other educational organizations, their staff, and learners across different levels.

At its core, the project aims to drive transformation towards environmental, social and economic sustainability. This involves providing accessible tools and sharing best practices with industry professionals and students alike. The emphasis is on empowering hotel teams with the skills, technological tools and knowledge essential for effective circular management of environmental sustainability.

The key activities to be pursued encompass benchmarking, involving the analysis of crucial factors, tools and best practices within the hotel industry to advance sustainable practices. The project will also delve into existing green initiatives, formulating comprehensive strategies to deepen comprehension and facilitate the effective management of environmental sustainability within the hotel sector. Additionally, a central focus will be given to the establishment of a specialized training program, "Circularity Manager," meticulously designed to meet the needs of both current hotel professionals and aspiring future leaders.

This kick-off meeting unfolded at SGS facilities in Madrid, providing partners with a valuable platform to connect, collaborate and immerse themselves in the project’s exciting initiatives.
