Abstract:
It seems that every household purchase these days has been somehow complicated by health concerns, and cookware is no exception. With the rapid changes in the industry, manufacturers are embracing innovative ideas, such as the use of different surface coatings, and using them to make better products.
With the update of EN 12983-1: 2023 and EN 12983-2: 2023 earlier this year, major changes had been made to the testing parameters of domestic cookware. In May, our expert provided an overview of these changes. On Friday, July 28th, 2023, a second session will be held where we will focus on the use of surface coatings in cookware and how this update can affect the testing procedures on them. We will also provide an overview of recent chemical regulatory updates to help manufacturers and suppliers demonstrate compliance for their products.
Key Highlights:
- Review of EN 12983 (Parts 1 & 2)
- Types of Common Surface Coating according to EN 12983 Part 1 (Vitreous Enamel & Solgel / Ceramic, Organic & Non-Stick Coatings)
- Chemical Requirements in EU & Member States
- PFAS Regulations
- SGS Performance Mark
