At the upcoming twenty-second meeting of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee (POPRC.22), scheduled for September 21–25, 2026, the committee will review proposals to list two key chemical substances in Annexes A, B, and/or C of the Stockholm Convention:
- Decabromodiphenylethane (DBDPE) and its related substance, 1,1'-ethane-1,2-diylbisbenzene (brominated), proposed by Norway.
- Bis(2-ethylhexyl) tetrabromophthalate (TBPH), covering any of its individual isomers and/or combinations thereof, proposed by the European Union.
Additionally, the committee will evaluate the revised draft risk profile for polybrominated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PBDD/Fs) and mixed polybrominated/chlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PXDD/Fs), alongside ongoing technical discussions regarding PFAS.
