Celebrating Sustainability Excellence at the Sustainability Awards for UN SDGs 2026

August 01, 2026

We participated for the first time as an independent partner in the nomination and evaluation process for the Sustainability Awards for UN SDGs 2026, organized by the Social Impact Investment Foundation (SIIF).

As a Hong Kong-based platform dedicated to advancing sustainable finance, impact investment and cross-sector collaboration, SIIF brings together stakeholders from business, finance, government and civil society to accelerate sustainable development.

Held at the Asia Society Hong Kong Center on August 1, 2026, the awards ceremony brough together business leaders, sustainability advocates and impact-driven organizations from across the Greater China region.

The awards recognize organizations and individuals that are making significant contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The assessment process followed the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) SDG Impact Standards for Enterprises, evaluating how organizations embed sustainability into strategy, governance, operations and stakeholder engagement while delivering tangible outcomes.

More than ten companies were recognized for achievements in areas including green transformation, circular economy initiatives, responsible business practices and social value creation. Their success demonstrates how sustainability is increasingly becoming a driver of innovation, resilience and long-term growth.

Beyond recognizing achievement, the Sustainability Impact Awards provide a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration and partnership among businesses, industry experts and sustainability stakeholders.

Driving impact through credibility and action

The awards ceremony featured opening remarks from Dr. Satya Tripathi, Secretary-General of the Global Alliance for a Sustainable Planet and former United Nations Assistant Secretary-General, who highlighted the importance of accelerating sustainability action and creating lasting positive social impact.

Speaking at the event, Anne Huang, Head of Sustainability, Business Assurance for SGS in the Asia Pacific region, noted that as the world undergoes major transformations in energy, resources, cities and communities, organizations are expected not only to demonstrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments, but also measurable outcomes. True sustainability leadership is defined by the ability to create lasting value for both business and society.

Drawing on its global expertise in sustainability, assurance and verification, we supported the evaluation of participating organizations' sustainability strategies, governance systems, implementation efforts and performance outcomes.

Sustainability in action across industries

Award recipients from across Greater China showcased how sustainability is being integrated into core business strategy rather than treated as a standalone corporate responsibility initiative. From improving waste recovery rates and supporting vulnerable communities to advancing emissions reduction technologies and strengthening supply chain resilience, their initiatives generate measurable environmental, social and economic value.

Leading organizations including Jinko ESS and Huayou Cobalt, also shared insights from their sustainability transformation journeys, demonstrating how businesses can translate sustainability ambition into tangible results.

As sustainability becomes increasingly embedded in business strategies and operations, the focus is shifting from commitments to measurable action and outcomes.

Through our IMPACT NOW initiative, we bring together solutions across four strategic pillars: Climate, Nature, ESG assurance and Circularity, helping organizations translate  sustainability ambitions into measurable outcomes and long-term business value.
