SGS and Certizen Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Enhance E-Commerce Security and Trust

We are pleased to announce that we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Certizen Limited, a Hong Kong-based provider of digital identity and electronic certificate solutions.

This collaboration combines the strengths of both parties, bringing together our professional expertise in certification and assurance services with Certizen’s deep expertise in digital integrity systems and cybersecurity certification, jointly promoting a technology-driven modern governance model and accelerating the establishment of cross-border digital trust.

Strengthening verification capabilities in a complex digital environment

As global business and operating models become increasingly interconnected, the importance of accurate, verifiable and traceable business-related information has grown significantly – particularly in cross-border and multi-jurisdictional environments. Organizations are seeking more reliable ways to demonstrate compliance, integrity and credibility to customers, regulators and business partners.

Under this MOU framework, we and Certizen will leverage digital identity, electronic certification and secure e-signature technologies, integrated with blockchain applications, to enhance information exchange and verification mechanisms across organizations and jurisdictions. This collaboration aims to significantly improve verification efficiency, as well as overall data transparency and traceability.

In addition, both parties will explore alignment with international trust ecosystems, including the Verifiable Legal Entity Identifier (vLEI) and its associated frameworks. In line with the Qualified vLEI Issuer (QVI) model and the GLEIF Ecosystem Governance Framework, the collaboration aims to further strengthen cross-border digital trust infrastructure and promote globally consistent standards for business identity verification.
