Towngas Group honored at SGS S-Carbon Awards for Digital Carbon Management Leadership

February 09, 2026
In a sustainability-driven economy, organizations are under increasing pressure to deliver transparent, accurate and actionable climate disclosures. Digitizing carbon data and extending visibility across Scope 3 emissions has become a strategic imperative, enabling companies to move beyond manual processes and fragmented data toward real-time insights and meaningful decarbonization.

Against this backdrop, we hosted the SGS S-Carbon Awards, recognizing organizations and partners that are leading the digital transformation of carbon management across supply chains. The initiative celebrates companies that are not only responding to regulatory requirements, but also shaping future-ready, technology-enabled sustainability strategies.

Driving digital transformation in carbon management

Towngas Group has leveraged SGS S-Carbon, the comprehensive digital carbon management platform, to digitize carbon data and extend emissions reporting across Scope 1, 2 and 3.

By adopting this forward-looking approach, Towngas Group has positioned itself as a pioneer in Asia, transforming carbon management from a compliance requirement into a strategic driver of operational excellence, supplier engagement and climate leadership.

Leading supply chain carbon visibility in Asia

Trevor Tang, General Manager – Corporate Supplies and Administration at Towngas, thanked SGS for awarding the SGS S-Carbon Awards to the Company, which recognises its achievements and commitment in carbon management: “Through the S-Carbon platform, suppliers submit greenhouse gas emissions data, enabling us to assess their environmental performance more comprehensively. This not only helps the Company obtain Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions data, thereby improving our overall ESG performance, but also encourages suppliers to jointly address ESG issues such as climate change and carbon reduction, working together to drive the supply chain towards sustainable development.”

Miranda Kwan, Director of Business Assurance at SGS, said: “Towngas has been using S-Carbon since 2022, becoming the first public utility in Asia to implement the platform for supply chain carbon management. Beyond managing its own carbon emissions, Towngas actively engages suppliers to address greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain, promoting ESG practices and carbon verification throughout its network. The S-Carbon Award is not only about recognition – it is about inspiring organizations to use digital tools to gain visibility, strengthen collaboration and drive informed decarbonization decisions.”

Accelerating impact through digitalization and collaboration

The S-Carbon Award Presentation highlights the growing role of digital solutions in building resilient, transparent and sustainable supply chains. By integrating Scope 3 emissions into carbon management strategies, organizations can enhance accountability, improve data quality and unlock new opportunities for collaboration and impact.

This initiative forms part of our IMPACT NOW climate program, which focuses on accelerating global decarbonization through digitally enabled solutions and transparent carbon management. Together with our partners, we are helping to create a future where innovation and collaboration support progress toward net-zero ambitions.
