Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), Hong Kong's largest independent cargo handler, has achieved ISO/IEC 27001 information security management system certification following our independent third-party audit.
This internationally recognized standard confirms Hactl’s strong commitment to implementing robust information security management practices across its operations.
The certification covers Hactl’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) that supports the provision of the IT infrastructure, data centre & service desk operations, security management, application development, support and maintenance for its Cargo Management System. Through certification, Hactl demonstrates a structured approach to protecting critical information assets against cyber threats, data breaches, and operational risks.
Why information security matters for air cargo operators
As air cargo operations become increasingly digitalized, operators rely heavily on technology to manage complex logistics and global supply chains. With cyber threats continuing to evolve, information security is no longer just an IT issue – it’s a business-critical priority.
Protecting sensitive data, ensuring system integrity and maintaining operational continuity are essential to building trust with customers, partners and regulators. ISO/IEC 27001 provides a globally recognized framework for identifying, managing and mitigating information security risks, helping organizations remain resilient in a rapidly changing threat landscape.

The certification presentation was made to Hactl Executive Director – Information Services John Lee (left), by Chris Yau, Deputy Director, Products and Services Development of SGS (right) at a formal recognition ceremony.
