As climate concerns intensify and sustainability becomes a central pillar of corporate strategy, product carbon footprint verification is emerging as a critical tool for businesses worldwide.
In October 2025, SGS had become the world’s first Product Carbon Footprint Verification Body accredited by Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) under ISO 14067.
ISO 14067 is an internationally recognized standard for calculating and disclosing Product Carbon Footprints (PCF), used to quantify greenhouse gas emissions across all stages of a product’s life cycle. As global markets push toward net-zero intensifies, more brands and buyers are incorporating PCF into procurement and sustainability management. As a result, credible third-party verification services have become a key threshold for companies entering international markets.
With this accreditation, SGS is now authorized to issue SAC-recognized verification statements based on ISO 14067:2018 and ISO 14064-3:2019 standards. This enables companies to accurately quantify and disclose product carbon emissions, enhancing their competitiveness and visibility in global markets.
This certification not only affirms SGS’s expertise in carbon management and sustainability verification, but also highlights its cross-regional integration capabilities.
With a robust technical framework, professional training, and global service resources, SGS will continue to provide accurate and transparent carbon footprint verification services, helping companies establish environmental declarations with international credibility and supporting their journey toward sustainable transformation with elevated standards.
SGS will continue to invest in the development and application of carbon footprint and sustainability verification technologies, combining its global expertise with local service experience to deliver efficient and internationally aligned sustainability solutions for businesses.
