Consumer Council Publishes Surveillance Report on Children’s Raincoat and Poncho

In a recent market surveillance report published by Hong Kong’s Consumer Council on 14 models of children’s raincoats and ponchos on the market and found that the cords and drawstrings and found some mechanical and chemicals hazards according to safety requirements set out by the European Union (EN 14682:2014 and REACH) & United States (CPSC & CPSIA).

The test covered both physical and chemical safety aspects, including the safety of cords and drawstrings, sharp points and edges, as well as phthalates and heavy metal content. Test results showed that 10 models met all relevant requirements, including the lowest-priced model, indicating that good choices are available across different price ranges.
