SGS presents the OGCIO with the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 UKAS certification and the first SGS Hong Kong ISO/IEC 27701 2019 ANAB certification

SGS (October 13) presents the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 UKAS certification and the first ISO/IEC 27701:2019 ANAB certification audited by SGS in Hong Kong to the "iAM Smart" one-stop personalised digital service platform of the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO). The recognition signifies that the "iAM Smart" services have achieved international standards in information security management and privacy information management systems.

ISO/IEC 27001:2022 UKAS is an international standard for information security management systems. The stringent assessment by SGS confirms that "iAM Smart" services comply with international best practices in information security risk management. The ISO/IEC 27701:2019 ANAB certification is an international standard for personal information management systems. Obtaining this certification demonstrates the OGCIO’s commitment to the protection of personal privacy data.

During the assessment, the SGS assessment team recognised that the OGCIO team has a good understanding of information security and is committed to ensuring the protection of the users’ personal data. The OGCIO team also clearly demonstrated the way to uphold relevant privacy regulations and principles during the development and operation of the services. The accreditation given after an audit demonstrated that the OGCIO has implemented and adopted comprehensive information security and privacy information management systems for "iAM Smart" services and used appropriate management procedures to ensure relevant measures are in compliance with the standard requirements of information security and privacy information management in an on-going manner. This also enables the "iAM Smart" services to continue to develop and improve in the future.

As one of the government’s digital infrastructure, the "iAM Smart" services aim to provide convenient and efficient digital identity services to Hong Kong citizens while ensuring the security and privacy of users’ information. Obtaining these two international certificates, audited and presented by SGS, further demonstrates the commitment of the "iAM Smart" services to information security and the protection of personal data privacy, which helps strengthen public confidence in using the service. The OGCIO will continue to enhance its services in order to provide users with a more secure and reliable digital identity service.
