Under the 5th wave of the pandemic, SGS and The Lab (Asia) Ltd. continue to utilise our professionalism to support the community among various aspects.
Except through providing services on mask, PPE, hygienic products, ventilation assessment, disinfection services and cleanroom certification, The Lab has supported the recent project of MiC quarantine facilities.
Recently, the Hong Kong Government has employed construction companies to build the MiC quarantine facilities in Penny’s Bay and Kai Tak Cruise Terminal to increase the number of isolated facilities and reduce the workload on public hospitals. The team of non-destructive testing (NDT) inspection services of The Lab gets the chance to contribute to this project, ensuring the structure of facilities fits the requirements of the Buildings Department and delivers on-time services to meet the need in this circumstance.
What is MiC?
Modular integrated construction (MiC) has been a new form of construction to enhance quality and productivity. The HK Government is promoting MiC for various building sectors such as public and private housing, elderly home, hostel, hospital and hotel. In response to market needs, The Lab is able to provide one-stop solutions for all MiC contractors.
In the project, The Lab is also involved in Concrete, Steel and Soil Tests. Especially, GCO probe test, which is normally carried out on formation level to verify ground condition before and after excavation.
