In May 2021, the Grain and Feed Trade Association (Gafta) renewed our Analyst, Fumigator and Superintendent certifications. This demonstrates our continued expertise in testing, inspection and the provision of advice for all categories of grain products. SGS is the only Gafta-approved fumigator in the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is one of the world’s largest exporters of grain crops, particularly wheat. We have offices and laboratories in the main grain-producing regions of the country, as well as in the port of Aktau, where we provide inspection services, quality examinations and grain safety assessments.
It is essential that exporters of grain crops have grain samples analyzed to protect their products from pests and to ensure safety and quality for the consumer throughout all stages of the production and sales processes.
Gafta is an international trade association with over 1900 members in 100 countries. 80% of the world's grain and feed trade takes place using Gafta’s standard contract forms.
