The US state of New Jersey has approved measures to regulate per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in several product categories.
On January 12, 2026, the governor of New Jersey signed S 1042 (Protecting Against Forever Chemicals Act, PAFCA, PL 2025, c.202) into law to regulate PFAS in several categories of product.
According to the definitions in the new law:
