SGS proudly participated in the 2026 Annual Insurance Week in Uganda, held from March 19 to March 26 at City Square in Kampala. This year’s event, themed “Future Eri Ku Sure Ne Insure”, brought together key stakeholders from across the insurance ecosystem to promote awareness, collaboration and innovation within the sector.
Broad Participation Across Sectors
The week-long event served as a vibrant platform for insurance companies operating in Uganda to showcase their products and services to the public.
In addition to insurers, several prominent institutions and sectors were represented, including the Uganda Revenue Authority, Uganda Police, National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA), the Judiciary of Uganda, Kenya Airways and various medical institutions. Their participation highlighted the interconnected role of insurance across multiple industries and public services.

Promoting SGS PVoC Services
At the SGS booth, our team focused on promoting our Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) services. Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about SGS’s expertise in ensuring that products meet regulatory standards before shipment. Particular emphasis was placed on PVoC solutions for various types of equipment, including oil and gas equipment.
Through direct engagement with stakeholders, we demonstrated how our services contribute to quality assurance, safety and regulatory compliance in international trade.

High-Level Engagement and Recognition
The event was officially launched by Alhaj Dr. Kaddunabbi Ibrahim Lubega, CEO of the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda. His visit to the SGS booth provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the role of conformity assessment services in supporting a robust and trustworthy insurance ecosystem.
Strengthening SGS Presence in Uganda
SGS’s participation in the Annual Insurance Week underscores our commitment to supporting regulatory compliance, facilitating trade and engaging with key industry players in Uganda. The event also provided a meaningful platform to strengthen relationships, enhance visibility and contribute to ongoing conversations about the future of insurance and risk management in the region.
We remain dedicated to delivering reliable and innovative solutions that support both businesses and regulatory frameworks.
