UNE 26525 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Inspections

Like all vehicles on the road, environmentally friendly compressed natural gas (CNG) powered vehicles need to pass the Vehicle Technical Inspection (ITV). However, there are additional, specific regulatory requirements for vehicles with CNG bottles.

Current regulations, outlined in the Manual of Inspection Procedures for ITV Stations and the CEPE/UN Regulation 110R, require the inspection of CNG bottles to ensure their safety and functionality. CNG certification is essential for your vehicle to pass the ITV and to ensure the efficiency of its fuel system.

• Bottle condition: comprehensive visual inspection to identify damage or deterioration
• Certificate validity: verification of required documentation according to UNE 26525

Inspection is mandatory:

• Every 48 months: from the vehicle's registration date or the installation of the CNG system
• Before reinstalling bottles: if they are removed or transferred to another vehicle

You must supply the following documents:

• Manufacturer’s report for the bottles (serial number, year of manufacture, etc.)
• Vehicle manufacturer’s report, if the bottles were installed at the factory
• Post-sale installer’s report, if the bottles were added after vehicle manufacturing

4. Receive your certificate: after you have paid, you will receive your CNG bottle inspection certificate
