Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) Office of Compliance and Field Operations has sent a reminder that the regulations issued under Reese’s Law are scheduled to be enforced in March 2024.
On February 12, 2024, the CPSC’s Office of Compliance and Field Operations sent out a letter to remind interested parties that the regulations issued under sections 2 and 3 of Reese’s Law are scheduled to be enforced after the enforcement discretion expires on the following dates.

| Consumer products containing or designed to use button cell or coin batteries | Must meet performance and labeling requirements of 16 CFR 1263 | March 19, 2024 |
The CPSC has been asked to extend the enforcement discretion but has so far not approved any additional extensions.
The final rule (16 CFR 1263.4) establishing labeling requirements for button cell or coin battery packages will be effective from September 21, 2024.
