Singapore will prohibit three persistent organic pollutant (POP) chemicals by December 2026, with limited exemptions.
On January 26, 2026, Singapore’s National Environment Agency (NEA) announced an update on the nation’s phase-out of three POP chemicals that were added to Annex A (elimination) of the Stockholm Convention on POPs, with specific exemptions (SC COP-12):
NEA is reviewing the exemptions for specific uses permitted under the Stockholm Convention and may issue additional guidance in due course.
