Environmental Product Declaration for UNI LMY Egypt – Siwa Rock Salt published on the International EPD® System

January 19, 2026

SGS has successfully completed the verification and publication of the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for UNI LMY Egypt – Siwa Rock Salt on the International EPD® System platform.

The EPD provides transparent, third-party verified information on the environmental performance of the product across its life cycle, supporting credible, science-based environmental reporting for international markets.

How was the EPD developed?

The EPD was developed through a structured and collaborative process involving life cycle assessment, technical modelling and independent verification.
The Ecologic Office acted as the subcontractor responsible for conducting the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and developing the EPD model in accordance with the applicable Product Category Rules (PCRs).

The work was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Nasser Ayoub, a recognized expert in LCA and sustainability, Co-Founder and CEO of EPD Egypt, Managing Director of EPD MENA, an accredited EPD verifier, and a certified LCA professional.

SGS performed the independent verification of the EPD, confirming compliance with ISO 14025 and the requirements of the International EPD System.

What does this EPD represent?

The verified EPD presents objective environmental impact data for Siwa Rock Salt, covering the full product life cycle, from extraction in the Siwa Oasis to market readiness. By publishing the declaration on an internationally recognized platform, UNI LMY Egypt demonstrates its commitment to transparency, environmental responsibility and data-driven sustainability practices.

Why are EPDs important today?

Environmental Product Declarations help organizations communicate environmental performance in a standardized and credible way. As demand for verified environmental data increases, EPDs support regulatory alignment, informed procurement decisions and greater confidence across supply chains.
