Moldova has issued legislation to approve the latest list of standards for presumption of conformity with the nation’s law on general product safety. These will become effective on August 8, 2022.
On July 8, 2022, Moldova’s Ministry of Economy (Ministerul Economiei al Republicii Moldova) issued Order No. 59 of May 20, 2022 (Order No. 59/2022) regarding the approval of the list of Moldovan Standards that adopt harmonized European standards for Law No. 422/2006 on general product safety.
The latest list of standards in Order No. 59/2022 transposes Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/1698 and its amendment under Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/1808 in the European Union (EU) on European standards for products drafted in support of Directive 2001/95/EC (General Product Safety Directive, GPSD, SafeGuardS 177/20 and references therein).
Highlights of several Moldovan standards and their corresponding European standards for children’s products or relating to children’s safety are summarized in Table 1.

Order No. 59/2022 repeals Order No. 406/2018 on approving the list of Moldovan standards that adopt harmonized European standards for general product safety. It will become effective on August 8, 2022.
