Why implementing ISO standards
JoPetrol was established in 2013 and is fully owned by Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC), representing its sole commercial arm to promote petroleum products in the Kingdom of Jordan. Sustainability has been in the company’s focus with due attention to HSE rigorous regulations and customer excellence.
In 2022, JoPetrol took the decision to implement ISO management systems standards and go through accredited certification with the following objectives:
- To improve quality and safety of customer care
- To improve employees HSEQ standards
- To improve efficiency and reduce errors
- To enhance brand reputation, image and credibility

One year later, thanks to the thorough preparatory work involving the whole team, JoPetrol successfully went through the certification process.
SGS being selected as the certification body conducted certification audits to verify compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, as well as to identify ways for JoPetrol to improve their management system.
