On completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain the purpose and business benefits of an ISMS, ISMS standards, management system audits and third-party certification
- Explain the auditor’s role and how to plan, conduct, report and follow-up an ISMS audit to establish conformity or otherwise with ISO/IEC 27001:2022 (and ISO/IEC 27002:2022) in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021, as appropriate
To adapt to your learning style and needs, this course is available as classroom-based or virtual instructor led training (VILT). Depending on the selected method, this course can be delivered over 3 days or 24 hours.
Course certification
Attendees on this course will be required to pass both the examination and continuous assessment. On successful completion of both, you will be issued with a Certificate of Achievement that satisfies the formal training requirement for an individual seeking certification as a CQI/IRCA auditor. The Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of five years from the date of the exam for the purpose of certifying as an auditor with the CQI/IRCA.
Prerequisites
Before starting the course, you are expected to have prior knowledge of the following principles and concepts:
- Management systems
- Understanding of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle
- Information security management
- Information security management principles
- The requirements of ISO/IEC 27001 (with ISO/IEC 27001) and the commonly used information security management terms and definitions, as given in ISO/IEC 27000 (overview and vocabulary). This can be gained by completing a CQI and IRCA certified ISMS Foundation Training Course or equivalent.
Prior to attending this conversion course, you should complete a full 5-day IRCA certified Auditor/Lead Auditor course in another scheme. This is a pre-requisite requirement to register on the CQI and IRCA Auditor certification scheme.
