In the EU, notifications of unsafe products for the cosmetics and hygiene sector rose by 64%, compared to Q3, 2020, while in the US, recalls for this category decreased.
The EU saw 36 unsafe product notifications, 13 of which were for skin whitening products and 12 for hand disinfectants. Chemical risk was the most common notification reason.
There were three unsafe product notifications in the USA, all for different products and for microbiological risks.
