Don’t miss Robert Cote on March 4th for our live webinar as he discusses how aviation activities can impact exploration and mining operations and what steps are needed in order to minimize any risks associated with aviation requirements.
Aviation activities are used in many industries for many reasons such as charter operations, passenger transportation, geophysical surveys, external load operations (drilling and/or cargo moves), aerial photography and many more. These often take place in remote locations or when limited ground access is encountered. Exploration and Mining activities frequently make use of these aviation activities however risks may not always be known or fully understood.
Although Operators are required to follow federal regulations, the regulatory requirements are considered minimum requirements to obtain an operating or maintenance certificate. Because of the lack of rigorous oversight, Industry has implemented several “Industry Best Practice” standards such as BARS (Basic Aviation Risk Standard), IOGP (International Association of Oil and Gas Producers) and SGS Aviation Compliance Aviation Standards.
