This social management system (SMS) awareness training helps you understand the background of the Social Accountability & Corporate Citizenship movement and to become aware of the ‘drivers’ behind all stakeholders interests.
We also provide you with an overview of the purpose and requirements of the role of nongovernmental organizations (NGO) and current ethical global initiatives. By completing this training you will be able to describe the purpose of a SMS and the requirements and reasoning for SA 8000 in the continual improvement of the SMS.
The training is an introduction for anyone involved in the development, implementation and management of a SMS based on SA 8000. If you plan to complete other SMS training, such as internal auditing and the Lead Auditor Training, you will receive during this course the knowledge and understanding of SA 8000 requirements upon which to build auditing skills.
The training comprises lecture and workshop exercises.
