This training is designed to help transfer your existing auditing skills from other management systems to those needed for audits of occupational health and safety management systems (OH and SMS).
If you have already successfully completed an IRCA certificated 5-day Lead Auditor training course, you can use the OHSAS 18001:2007 Auditor Conversion Training to broaden your skills and knowledge base to understand and audit to OHSAS criteria. The principles of OHSAS 18001 set out a clearly defined management system so that you can examine and control an organization’s occupational health and safety risks and vulnerabilities.
On training completion you will be able to:
- Apply in-depth knowledge of the intent of the safety standard and the OHSAS 18001 audit certification process and the role of auditors in the context of the standard
- Understand the importance of a safety policy and how it should be based on the significant risks identified by the organization
- Have the skills and knowledge needed to conduct third party audits against the requirements of the OHSAS 18001
- Meet the training requirements for registration as anOH&SMS Auditor or Lead Auditor with the IRCA
