2023 saw the long awaited adoption of the new general USP chapters <665> and <1665>, which address the risks of extractables and leachables in plastic components and systems used in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products.

Since receiving his PhD in 1997, Andreas has worked in a variety of scientific and managerial positions. He introduced E&L testing services for both medical devices and pharmaceutical applications at SGS in 2008. He became Business Development Manager in 2010.
