We are pleased to announce that Centr’s Inspire T3, T4, T5 and T7 treadmills, manufactured by Health in Motion, have achieved Radio Equipment Directive (RED), Cybersecurity Notified Body certification. This follows the company’s successful EN 18031 certification and enables compliant access to key European Union markets.
Centr, founded by Chris Hemsworth, delivers state-of-the-art fitness equipment and expert-led training programs to customers worldwide. By achieving RED cybersecurity certification, the treadmills can demonstrate compliance with essential EU regulatory standards for connected products.

Enabling compliance under the Radio Equipment Directive
Accessing the European fitness equipment market requires more than product performance; it demands full compliance with evolving cybersecurity and data protection regulations.
Under Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/30, Articles 3.3(d), (e) and (f), connected radio equipment must:
- Protect network integrity and prevent service degradation
- Safeguard user privacy and personal data
- Provide protection against fraud
These requirements became mandatory on August 1, 2025. Products that fail to comply may face fines, withdrawal or recall from the EU market. Early, structured compliance is therefore essential for manufacturers of connected devices.
Supporting secure and compliant connected products
For Centr, achieving EN 18031 certification and RED cybersecurity Notified Body approval for their Inspire series of treadmills was a critical milestone for EU market entry.
Working closely with the Centr team from the early stages of development, we reviewed technical documentation, identified potential compliance gaps and conducted comprehensive cybersecurity testing.
Testing covered key domains, including:
- Access control
- Authentication mechanisms
- Secure software updates
- Secure communications
- Secure storage
- Logging functions
- Deletion mechanisms
- User notification mechanisms
- Cryptography
Our early involvement helped reduce compliance risk and support a streamlined certification process.
A “golden key” to the EU market
The certification ceremony was attended by Anson Luo, SGS Cybersecurity Director, and Jeff Laborde, President of Centr.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Jeff Laborde said: “The certificate acts as a ‘golden key’ to the EU market. It also ensures that user sports and health data remain private and secure. We will continue working with SGS to innovate in compliance and user experience.”
