In a significant stride towards sustainable development, SGS actively participated in the one-day seminar titled "Accreditation Supporting UAE Net Zero 2050".

Organized by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MOIAT) on December 19, 2023, this event marked a pivotal moment in the UAE's journey towards achieving its ambitious Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative.

UAE Net Zero 2050: A Pioneering Initiative

The UAE Net Zero by 2050 initiative sets a precedent in the MENA region, positioning the Emirates as a trailblazer in sustainable practices. This strategic move aligns with the UAE's broader roadmap for accelerated economic development, focusing on decarbonization and sustainable venture creation.

The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) spearheads this initiative, crafting strategies to inculcate sustainable practices in the business sector.

Presentations delved into the UAE’s climate action strategy and how it aligns with international climate policies. The focus was on the role of the Standards and Regulations Sector (STR) in issuing and evaluating national standards and technical regulations.

Dr. Mahboob Ali from SGS Gulf Ltd delivered a compelling presentation on " Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Verification and Path to Net Zero Emissions", emphasizing SGS's pivotal role in this journey. He also delved into the verification process, highlighting the SGS GHG Verification Solution and its benefits.
