Ten SGS inspectors have completed the training to provide CE Marking services in the UAE for manufacturers and suppliers who export their products to the European Economic Area (EEA). Services will include design review, conformity assessment, document assessment, insurance of EC declaration of conformity and more.
The purpose of CE marking is to guarantee that a product complies with all the EEA’s health, safety and environmental requirements. It indicates that the life cycle of the product has been checked for public consumption.
The CE Marking rules indicate:
- Manufacturers have assessed the quality of the product, therefore taking responsibility for conformity of the product with all the applicable requirements
- It’s affixed to products provided for the community harmonization legislation
- It’s the only exclusive marking which attests the conformity of the product. Any other marking may be affixed to the product provided such that the visibility, legibility and meaning of the CE marking is not thereby impaired
- If the products are also covered by different directives and on which CE Marking is required, then these marking implies that the conformity of the product with the provisions of the concerned directives is also achieved
Our inspectors will be able to provide CE marking for all equipment manufactured in the UAE as part of an ethane cracker plant. This plant will be built and commissioned in Belgium. Carlos Felgueiras, coordinator – Industries & Environment from SGS Portugal visited Abu Dhabi and provided training to the inspectors.
The equipment will be assessed by our newly qualified inspectors to ensure compliance with the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU.

- Assemblies
