Pressure Change Measurement Test

Pressure Change Measurement Test

Principle

The total leakage can be measured by evaluating the inside pressure change with the passage of time in a decompressed or pressurized test object.

Application

  • Primary barrier tightness test and Secondary barrier tightness test in Mark III type LNG carrier. Global test in NO96 type LNG carrier

Equipment

  • The proper equipment able to pressurize(decompress) test object, Pressure & Temperature indicator should be arranged in accordance with reference code requirements.

Evaluation

Systemic recording is necessary for pressure and temperature change. The Machine or System to be tested will be judged acceptable or not according to data analyzing, leakage rate per unit time or pressure change.
If the pressure change or leakage rate per unit time exceeds the stipulated value in the reference code then the test object will be rejected. The test object will be accepted when within the reference code. The extreme pressure change and leakage rate per unit time should be defined and repaired following proper procedures. The re-test will be done again to be sure of tightness.
