SPECIAL LEAK TEST
Concept
The leak is the phenomena that fluid is passing through the openings such like hole or crack on the system or vessel, and usually is defined as fluid flows out or in limited space. Therefore, The leak test is to locate leak and to measure leakage of the pressurized(or decompressed) test product.
Purpose
The leak test is performed to prevent the environmental pollution by noxious material and to reduce the waste of expensive fuel and the energy further more to keep continuous operation of the equipments and the maintenance of the facilities. Also, this is used for protecting early equipment down.
The Sorts
There are many leak test methods such like Tracer gas test, physical property method and chemical conversion method, etc. however, the most fundamental method is classified into pressurizing and decompressing.
There are 5 sorts of prime test methods those are bubble leak test, halogen diode probe test, helium mass spectrometer, PCMT in accordance with ASME Sec. V
This website will describe prime leak test methods in our company ; the ammonia leak test, the bubble leak test-vacuum box test, PCMT, the helium leak test and detect probe test those are applicable to LNG carrier, LNG tank in terminal and high-pressurizing pipe.
