Industrial Services

So when companies need to certify that their products or installations have been performed correctly, they call on the expertise of SGS Industrial Services. Industrial Services ensures that the quality and performance of products meets regulatory, voluntary or client requirements. In Canada, the hub of our Industrial Services group is the province of Quebec, offering services such as material testing, reliability services, inspection and certification, and supply chain services.

Life Science Services
When pharmaceutical companies want to develop new drugs, they turn to the expertise of SGS for quality control testing and clinical trials. Life Science also delivers agrochemical product registration, clinical research, data management and statistics, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance and bioanalytical laboratory services. Located in Mississauga, Ontario, new graduates would typically start off as lab technicians or junior analysts with a background in analytical chemistry.

Minerals Services

Providing market leading geochemical, metallurgical, oilsands, coal and trade services, from 15 locations across the country, Minerals Services is well positioned to serve the mining and energy sectors. With the increased demand for mineral services, career opportunities for new graduates are plentiful. Engineering students from mineral processing, metallurgical or chemical engineering programs would start as Junior Metallurgists in Training and can progress to Project Managers as part of a four year structured training program.

Oil, Gas & Chemicals Services
SGS’s Oil, Gas and Chemicals (OGC) services is the market leader in providing inspection, laboratory testing and blending services to the oil, gas and chemicals sector. OGC also provides Low Pressure Gas (LPG) quality certification and laboratory outsourcing. Operating offices in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Montreal, Quebec City, Fort McMurray, Toronto and Sarnia, Ontario and Vancouver (Burnaby), new graduates can find career opportunities as laboratory technicians with a background in petroleum or analytical chemistry.

Systems & Services Certification

SSC is recognized as the world’s preferred auditing and certifying body, working with compliance standards such as ISO and HACCP. SSC can also provide industry specific certification and auditing standards in industries such as aerospace, forestry and information technology.
