The Objective
The fabrication and operation of pressure equipment, such as pressure vessels, tanks, boilers, pressurized systems and various process installations, are subject to local and regional statutory regulations in most countries. These equipments must be certified by an independent Notified Body to ensure that essential safety requirements and appropriate conformity assessment procedures are satisfied.
Boilers and pressure vessels in Europe must comply with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 97/23/EC) and in the USA with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. There are other local regulations which have to be followed in India, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.
