Corporate - 22/12/06 Large distribution network audit – outsourcing solution A large distribution network of cars and LCV's of top car manufactures' brands contacted SGS to verify the possibility of assessing that all their dealers all over the country (about 1300 sites) were in compliance with each brand requirements. Such requirements covered different aspects such as the sales process, after sales repairs, equipment, staff, organization, offering, cleanliness, etc. The Client need was to start the verification activities within one month, in order to meet the time schedule imposed by the various brands. The main problem was to find the necessary audit resources with the required skills and in sufficient number in order to satisfy Client's time scale. The problem was solved in 4 weeks and about 80 qualified auditors were recruited and trained, a backoffice of 4 people built up in four regions to schedule the audits and a Project Manager appointed to ensure the correct execution of the contract and to act as the interface with the client. The distribution network found the solution to its problem by outsourcing to SGS the audit activity, thus ensuring uniformity of approach, time optimization, transformation of fixed costs into variable ones and successfully facing the peaks of activity. After 3 years the contract has been renewed to the full satisfaction of the Client". |
