Description of Actual Services Provided by the SGS Staff

Under SRO 255-Law 2002/1973/Customs 19/09/2002, the Government of the Republic of Bangladesh mandates SGS to conduct PSI of all imports subject to this programme from Zone A and C countries.

Proper identification of goods prior to shipment, with regard to quality, quantity, tariff classification, import eligibility and the provision of valuation information for Customs purposes. The programme allows for the correct assessment of import duties and taxes by Customs to the advantage of both government and trade.
