ISO/TS 16949
Demonstrate your commitment to quality in the automotive industry
Stakeholders within automotive supply chains are becoming increasingly quality-conscious. With parts and raw materials sourced from many different countries and suppliers, they expect that every element complies with the highest quality standards. They also want this information up-front, in addition to being assured that their suppliers will continue to meet their needs now and in the long term. That’s a challenge, but also an opportunity for you to prove your product quality and build lasting relations within the automotive industry.
Proof that you are committed to your customers
The ISO/TS 16949:2002 Quality Management System certification for the automotive industry enables you to demonstrate your commitment to product quality and compliance to customer requirements with one certificate. In addition, it allows you to continuously improve your quality management systems and the relevant processes.
ISO/TS 16949:2002 is based on renowned quality management principles
ISO/TS 16949:2002 is a worldwide automotive standard developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) – a group of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers (General Motors, Ford, BMW, PSA Citroen, Volkswagen, Renault, Fiat) and their respective trade associations. It is based on the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000, AVSQ (Italian), EAQF (French), VDA6 (German) and QS-9000 (U.S.) standards, except brought together in a single standard. ISO/TS 16949:2002 can be applied to company sites worldwide, wherever automobiles, or their parts and components are manufactured.
The benefits of ISO/TS 16949:2002
The wide international recognition of the ISO/TS 16949:2002 standard increases the credibility of your organization when bidding for global sourcing contracts or expanding business locally. It also assists you in reducing production variations and improves your manufacturing efficiency, which can positively impact your bottom line. Added to that, it helps create a common quality system approach to the entire supply chain (for suppliers/subcontractors) and facilitates access to the industry's best practices.
