Import Certification – Saudi Arabia
The Objective
Products exported to Saudi Arabia are subject to the mandatory certification program of the Ministry and Commerce of Saudi Arabia. The program SASO ICCP was phased out pursuant to the Council of Ministers Decree Nº.213.
The new SASO program requires that every product which is exported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has to be accompanied by a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) to prove their compliance with the requirement of the applicable standards and technical regulations.
The CoC is mandatory for goods clearance. Consignments without certificates or without meeting the requirements of the Conformity Assessment Program will be rejected.
The aim of the Conformity Assessment Program is to ensure that the goods imported into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia meet the quality, safety and security requirements and thus protect consumer’s health and safety and the environment.
