Import Certification – Iran
The Objective
Iranian Import regulations are complex and often require extensive documentation. Most industrial goods, equipment and machines imported into Iran need to comply with the mandatory certification program of ISIRI, the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran.
Certain goods (PDF 272 KB) which are in the scope of the ISIRI “Certification of Conformity” scheme can only be imported into Iran if they are accompanied by a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued by ISIRI, based on the “Verification of Conformity” of accredited inspection companies like SGS.
As the importer of goods you are responsible for verifying whether a particular product falls within the scope of these regulations and have to provide the required certification documents to the authorities.
Certain industrial projects financed by the Iranian Commercial Banks may require a price verification certificate which determines that the proposed project price is within an acceptable market range.
The Solution
In order to facilitate and expedite the import of goods into Iran, ISIRI has accredited SGS to offer conformity assessment services and to issue Verification of Conformity (VoC) Certificates.
Importers can routinely obtain the required CoC from the ISIRI provincial offices based on the VoC/COI Certificates issued by SGS in the country of the seller. The service may be combined with the program of the Central Bank of Iran (Bank Markazi Jomhouri Islami Iran) for which SGS Industrial Services is also accredited.

Our Services for Import Certification – Iran
Products to be used in Industrial projects in Iran require inspection before shipment. The Verification of Conformity to ISIRI is often combined with the customer’s own inspection requirements to ensure that the products comply with both the regulations and the customers’ specifications.
A pre-shipment inspection is a detailed inspection of equipment or material after manufacturing and before shipment. The scope of the mandatory or statutory pre-shipment inspection includes the following:

- Loading Supervision
An Inspection Certificate can be provided against a Letter of Credit and authorized by a Chamber of Commerce.
