The Financial Benefits of System Management

Aims
The aim of this course is to demonstrate how an organisation can show the benefit, in financial terms, of operating effective management systems. It will help to prove the business case for investing in management systems and assist in the presentation of the benefits of such systems to top management.

Profile
Through a combination of lectures and exercises, the course will cover the following subject areas:

• the fundamentals of costing for quality
• how to identify costs and benefits associated with the management system (analysis of data)
• how to compare these costs with similar organisations (benchmarking)
• how to reduce the identified costs with the maximum benefit to the organisation (corrective action)
• how to set realistic targets to reduce costs (quality objectives)

The course will be applicable to organisations in all sectors, as the examples used and the exercises will be from both the manufacturing and service sectors.
