SGS Czech Republic – SGS operated in Czechoslovakia from the twenties of the last century to 1948. Since being re-established in 1990, SGS Czech Republic, just like its sister company in Slovakia, has undergone a dynamic development, has successfully participated in a host of projects and acquired an important group of domestic customers, above all thanks to the high quality of its services and its unique international network of branches.

SERVICES
The main activities of SGS include control services in international trade in the following spheres:

  • Agricultural products and foodstuffs,
  • Consumer goods,
  • Mineral raw materials, petrochemicals
  • Industrial equipment.

As well as expanding these main activities SGS has entered new branches in the following sectors:

  • Construction investment,
  • The certification of quality and health protection systems
  • Environmental and geo-technical services
  • Control of the use of financial resources

SGS has developed a range of tailor-made programmes for governments and international institutions

  • The mandatory control of exports to approximately 30 countries whose customs authorities, on the basis of governmental contracts with SGS, demand the SGS certificate as one of the documents essential for settling price formalities and payment.

SGS MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS CERTIFICATION
SGS offers certification of management systems in the CR above all in accordance with the following international norms: ISO 9001 – quality management systems, ISO/TS 16949 and VDA 6.1 – quality management systems in the car industry, ISO 13485 – quality management systems in the sphere of healthcare technology, the CE brand in accordance with Directive 93/42/EEC under the notification body EU 0120,  ISO 14001 – environmental management systems, and OHSAS 18001 – health and safety at work management systems.
