Helping to Supply China’s Renewable Energy Needs

As China seeks to supply more energy for its rapidly expanding economy, sources of renewable energy are becoming more and more important.

As China seeks to supply more energy for its rapidly expanding economy, sources of renewable energy are becoming more and more important. SGS worked with the Danish energy group Vestas to set up a wind farm of fifty wind turbines, an important step on China’s way to providing 500,000 megawatts worth of renewable energy for the country by 2030. For this project, SGS performed non-destructive testing on the infrastructure, ensured that recognised standards were followed and that the defined specifications of the manufacturers were met. Vestas now uses SGS to ensure that technical specifications set forth by customers are continually met.
