Food: Factory Security Assessment
SGS security assessment services are designed to address and assist:
- An organisation’s security processes, identify corrective actions and establish improvement plans to address weaknesses,
- A client’s compliance with government security requirements through periodic auditing of its commercial processes,
- The compliance of security systems and procedures of prospective or contracted third party suppliers, manufacturers, freight forwarders and similar service providers with their customer’s security requirements
- Clients to develop and implement security systems and procedures and, where relevant, coordinate these with their service providers
- Clients to prepare and assess security submissions for government applications or buyer programs.
SGS security assessments are conducted by SGS trained security auditors using tools, best practices and systems developed in conjunction with senior trade security professionals. Our security auditors are located in most countries of the world and have local knowledge of security concerns, regulations and operating environments. This global network provides a highly responsive and cost effective local audit solution that can be consistently applied to different elements of a client’s supply chain.
SGS has developed a relationship with the law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP to provide clients with counsel in matters relating to Homeland Security, Customs and related international trade issues, including supply chain security. Greenberg Traurig attorneys provide C-TPAT counsel and assist in enrolling companies in the program.
SGS Integrated Approach SGS’ supply chain security services are complementary with other SGS products. SGS can offer a “one stop” and complete vendor-rating program to include "capability and capacity" audits, as well as other Corporate Social Responsibility monitoring requirements e.g. for Human Rights and the Environment. For vendor clients, this offers increased efficiency and business opportunities to meet multiple criteria demanded by diverse buyers and a source of competitive advantage where larger buyers seek to rationalize their supply chains.
