SGS is pleased to announce the opening of a new laboratory, dedicated to the processing and analysis of asbestos-containing materials, in Toulouse.

Our SGS Multilab laboratory has been accredited by COFRAC (ISO 17025), under No 1-2391, for the detection and identification of asbestos in building materials and asphalt, and for the collection and analysis of asbestos in the air.

This new laboratory is equipped with the latest technology, allowing us to provide a complete range of services dedicated to the quality of air and materials.

Our new site offers the following benefits:

Indoor air: measurement of asbestos fiber in building dust

  • Establishment of a sampling strategy, according to EN ISO 16000-7 and GA X 46-033
  • Static sampling by pumping through a membrane filter, according to NF X 43-050
  • Fiber counting using META + EDX, according to NF X 43-050

Workplace air: measurement of asbestos fiber in workplace dust

  • Establishment of a sampling strategy, according to EN ISO 16000-7, GA X 46-033 and XP X 43-269
  • Individual or static sampling by pumping through a membrane filter, according to XP X 43-269
  • Fiber counting using META + EDX, according to NF X 43-050

  • Detection and identification of fiber using polarized light optical microscopy, based on guidance from HSG 248-appendix 2
