SGS Malaysia to Certify Royal Malaysian Police on ISO 9001:2008
SGS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd recently secured a contract with the Royal Malaysian Police, Malaysia’s uniformed federal police force, to certify them for ISO 9001:2008. The certification covers 174 sites, including the Royal Malaysian Police Headquarters, and is the largest ISO 9001:2008 contract won, to date, by SGS in Malaysia.
The scope of the certification will cover: the management of traffic; the design, management and presentation of courses at the Royal Malaysia Police College; the management of crime investigations for sexual crimes, child abuse and domestic violence; the management of forfeiture of property under the Dangerous Drugs: Forfeiture of Property Act 1988 (Act 340); and the management of fraud investigation.
The Royal Malaysian Police has 113,426 personnel, with responsibilities ranging from traffic control to intelligence gathering. It is made up of eight specialised law enforcement departments led by the Inspector General of Police.
The Royal Malaysian Police Headquarters are located at Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur. It is from here that the Inspector General of Police directs operations for the 14 regions, with their respective Police headquarters, and the 148 police districts across the country.
